A scavenger was stabbed to death by another after they fought over a petty dispute in the limits of Saddar police station in Mardan on Sunday.
According to the local police, two scavengers who were friends fought over a junkyard and were friends, one stabbed to other to death with a knife and fled the scene after committing the crime.
Police took the body into custody and arrested the accused.
They said the two were collecting junk when they fought.
adding that the accused had taken out a knife and stabbed the victim repeatedly, killing him on the spot.
According to the police, both were addicted to drugs.

A three years old girl was drowned, when she falls in a water canal in Gujargarhi Deputy Kalay area on Saturday.
Local sources said that three years old Saima, daughter of Khurshid, fell into the canal near her house while playing in the area. Large number of people rushed the area to rescue the child but she suffocated in the water as the local reached. Later people pulled the girl out of the canal and shifted her to Rescue 1122 Gujargarhi near Barf Khana station where Rescue 1122 medical technicians tried to restore her breathing and heartbeat by providing CPR.
The Rescue 1122 medical team immediately shifted the girl to MMC, however, the doctors confirmed the Saima death. it is to mentioned here that similary case also occured in Baghdaa area, when three children drowned Kalpani canal in Mardan.
