PESHAWAR: A government school teacher was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the jurisdiction of Shaheed Gulfat Police Station in Peshawar here on Saturday.

According to initial reports, the gunmen opened fire on the teacher, killing him on the spot. After the attack, the assailants managed to flee the scene.

The victim, who was a teacher at Government School City No. 1, was performing his duties at the time of the attack.

Upon receiving news of the incident, police rushed to the scene, collected evidence, and initiated an investigation.

Authorities have also launched a search operation in the area to track down the suspects responsible for the killing.

Meanwhile, an assistant sub-inspector was killed and another one was injured in two separate gun attacks, targeting police personnel that occurred in different areas of Peshawar on Thursday.

According to police sources, the first incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Daudzai police station, where ASI Safiullah was killed by unidentified assailants. Reports indicate that ASI Safiullah was on his way home after prayers when he was attacked by unknown assailants.

At the time, he was serving as the deputy in charge at Special Branch Post No. 2.

The second incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Town police station, where unknown individuals shot and injured Constable Sikandar. The injured officer has been promptly taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities have initiated investigations into both incidents, treating them as targeted attacks, and are actively searching for the assailants. Police officials have condemned these acts of terrorism and are committed to apprehending the perpetrators soon.
