SWABI: A schoolteacher was abducted in broad daylight from the Topi area of Swabi district, but local police have so far failed to secure his recovery, according to family sources.
The victim, identified as Muhammad Bilal, son of Sanober Khan, is a resident of Pihor Hamlet. He reportedly left his home around 11:40 AM morning to buy household items but never returned. According to eyewitnesses, the abduction occurred near the spot where he was last seen.
Eyewitnesses claim that a grey-coloured motor vehicle bearing registration number PJ-238 arrived at the location, and several men dressed in black forcibly took Bilal and made him enter the car before quickly fleeing the scene.
Bilal’s family immediately reported the incident to the Topi Police Station and alerted other law enforcement agencies. However, there has been no official confirmation or response from the Swabi District Police so far, raising concerns that the abduction may not have been addressed as part of any formal police action.
In response to the inaction, the victim’s family submitted a written request to the District Police Officer (DPO) of Swabi, Muhammad Azhar, urging immediate steps to locate and safely recover Muhammad Bilal. The family has expressed growing concern over the lack of progress and called on authorities to treat the case with urgency.
No group has claimed responsibility for the abduction, and the motive behind the incident remains unclear. The local community has voiced its alarm over the incident, demanding swift action from law enforcement.
