Security forces arrest 17 miscreants for involvement in Kurram instability

PESHAWAR: Security forces and police have arrested 17 more miscreants in action against terrorists and disruptive elements involved in recent instability in Lower Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

With these latest arrests, the total number of arrested miscreants has risen to 65 since the operation began on Thursday.

The KP government decided to launch operation against disruptive elements after continues instability and attacks on aid convoys despite a peace agreement was signed as a result of the government’s efforts to bring the situation under control in the region.

Security forces also recovered heavy weapons and looted items from the suspects. Seized weapons include heavy machine guns, Kalashnikovs, rifles, and hundreds of cartridges.

During operations, law enforcement agencies have also recovered stolen goods, medicines, and daily essentials.

Out of 65 arrested suspects, 18 are terrorists and facilitators. Majority of the arrested suspects were named in CTD-registered FIRs against 57 individuals.
