PESHAWAR: Hayatabad Medical Complex has suspended a security guard for allegedly taking bribes from private ambulances in exchange for allowing them to park in hospital premises to transport dead bodies and patients.
As per details, a video went viral on social media showing a security guard at the Hospital entry asking for his commission for allowing him to enter and transport a dead body a day earlier. The guard says, “I have already provided the body, now you have to pay Rs 5,000.”
The driver requested him to offer two thousand, but the guard insisted on five thousand. Later, they agreed to meet with the ambulance owner.
Following the video’s circulation, hospital management acted quickly and suspended the accused security guard, Mumtaz Muhammad, son of Baaz Afridi.
“The security guard Mumtaz Muhammad of this hospital is involved in asking for commission/money from ambulance drivers outside HMC premises in PDA parking as per the video viral on social media,” read a suspension order notification saying keeping all above in view, the guard has been suspended with immediate effect till further orders.
A formation of an inquiry committee was also requested to investigate the case in detail.
