Sehat Card funds first successful liver transplant in KP

PESHAWAR:A 37-year-old woman from Haripur successfully underwent the first liver transplant under the Sehat Card Plus program in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The surgery was performed at Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital in Islamabad.

The woman was diagnosed with a liver condition seven months ago and was recommended for a transplant. The entire treatment, costing Rs 6.2 million, was covered by the Sehat Card, providing financial relief to her family.

The Health Department confirmed the success of the operation, marking a significant milestone in the province’s healthcare services.
