Senator Mirza Afridi announces no-confidence move against senate chairman, deputy

Senator Mirza Afridi

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s newly elected senator Mirza Afridi has stated that the current Senate Chairman and Deputy Senate Chairman were not elected through a proper voting process, but rather through selection.

While speaking to the media, Mirza Afridi explained, “A year and a half ago, I was not part of this parliament, and now I have returned after that time. How were the Senate Chairman and Deputy Senate Chairman elected? I did not participate in the vote. This is a federation, and members from one province did not attend. So, how could the Senate Chairman and Deputy Senate Chairman be elected? This was selection, not election.”

He added, “I intend to bring a no-confidence motion against him on behalf of my party because it is our right. I did not vote, and eleven of my party members were absent. There was no representation from our party during the election.”
