Seven killed and 15 injured in South Waziristan blast

 

PESHAWAR: At least six people were killed and 14 others were seriously injured when a blast rocked the office of the Peace Committee on Monday.

Police sources have confirmed that the blast took place in the office of a local peace committee member near Spin Stand Wana, creating widespread fear in the region. Authorities have stated that the explosion’s intensity caused significant damage to the office building, trapping several injured individuals under the rubble.

Rescue teams and residents have promptly arrived to initiate relief efforts and assist the victims. Rescue operations are continuing, with teams working diligently to clear the debris in hopes of rescuing any additional individuals who may be trapped.

The injured have been transported to a nearby district headquarters hospital, receiving medical treatment.

Those martyred in the tragic incident were identified as Khawaja Khan, Aya Khan, Sher Khan, Hayatullah, Sahibzada, Ismael and Nawab.

A heavy contingent of police and security forces rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. Police have been put on high alert to avert any follow-up incident. The Police said that the exact nature of the blast was being investigated, and it would be premature to disclose the nature of the blast.
