Several flights diverted to alternative cities as Flight schedule affected due to heavy rain

PESHAWAR: The heavy rain has affected the Flight operations at Islamabad International, as a result of which many international flights were diverted to alternative cities while several flights were delayed.

According to aviation sources, a foreign airline flight FZ-353 coming from Dubai to Islamabad was diverted to Sialkot due to bad weather. Similarly, a flight of the national airline (PIA) coming from Al Ain to Islamabad was also landed at Sialkot Airport.

A private airline flight coming from Riyadh to Islamabad was also made to land in Faisalabad due to bad weather. Due to heavy rains, the departure of several international flights departing from Islamabad Airport is being delayed, including flights to London, Dubai, Doha, Baku and Muscat. Similarly, flights from Islamabad to Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, Kuwait and Karachi have also not been able to depart on time and are facing delays. Airport officials say that the resumption of flight operations depends on the improvement in the weather, and passengers are being informed of the new flight schedule.
