Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Afridi created history during the first ODI against West Indies on Saturday, becoming the fastest bowler to take 131 wickets in just 65 matches. The previous record was held by Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan (128 wickets in 65 matches).
Pakistan won the match by 5 wickets, chasing down the target in the 49th over. Shaheen was the standout performer with 4 wickets, while Naseem Shah claimed 3 wickets to restrict West Indies.
The remaining two matches of the series will also be played at Brian Lara Stadium on Sunday and Tuesday.
