Shibli Faraz accuses Government for targeting PTI to ensures Its own survival

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central leader Shibli Faraz severely criticised the government, saying that the government is deliberately targeting PTI to ensure its survival.

Senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Shibli Faraz has claimed that if Imran Khan was released, the current government would not be able to last even for an hour. He said that the survival of the government was conditional on Imran Khan’s imprisonment. In an interview given to a private TV channel, Shibli Faraz condemned the government’s attitude toward PTI, saying that the government is deliberately pinning the PTI to the wall to ensure its survival.

According to him, as long as the PTI is under pressure and its leadership is in jail, the government is satisfied. Shibli Faraz alleged that the government is deliberately increasing the tension between PTI and the establishment. He clarified that PTI has always stood with the state institutions and the army, and even today, there has been no change in their stance.

Shibli Faraz said that the government was never serious about negotiations, which is why all efforts failed. He termed the current government as the most controversial and unrepresentative government in history and said that a parliament that does not have a public mandate can never play an effective role. Criticising the current government, he said that by imposing circular debt on the people, the government has absolved itself of responsibility. Neither load shedding has ended, nor have debts been reduced, nor has the economy improved. According to Shibli Faraz, the government is making decisions only based on personal interests, while the people have been pushed into a whirlpool of difficulties.

Shibli Faraz complained that media talk shows are being run under a specific agenda, due to which he often avoids them. He said that Imran Khan is not allowed to communicate even with his family, which is a clear violation of human rights. Shibli Faraz also criticised the PPP and said that it is adopting double standards in the Senate and public discourse. He also accused the PPP of failure in the canal system and wrong agreements in the power sector. Shibli Faraz expressed hope that soon the PTI will once again be seen in the field with full political activities. He admitted that it took time for the party to recover after November 26, but now the party is reuniting and becoming active.
