Six die, five injured in rain related incidents across KP in last two days

Islamabad, parts of KP hit by heavy rains

Six people have lost their lives and five others have been injured in various accidents due to recent rains, storms, lightning and landslides in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a preliminary report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the rains have been ongoing since June 20, during which 3 men, 1 woman and 2 children were killed in accidents in different districts, while 3 men and 2 women were injured.
According to the report, a total of 7 houses were damaged due to heavy rains and storms, of which 5 houses were partially and 2 were completely collapsed.
According to the PDMA, the accidents occurred in Mansehra, Buner, Lower and Upper Dir, Malakand, and Kohistan Kolai Palace.
The PDMA has directed the concerned district administration to provide immediate relief to the affected families and ensure the provision of best medical facilities to the injured. Meanwhile, the PDMA has warned that the rains are likely to continue till June 23, in view of which a letter has already been issued to all the district administrations to remain alert and take necessary precautionary measures.
