Six injured child missing as Rickshaw plunged into canal

Eight die in road accident in Lower Kohistan

CHARSADDA: At least six women were injured and a child is missing when a Qingqi rickshaw plunged into a canal in Ziarat Kally area on Saturday.

According to initial reports, there were six women and one child aboard the rickshaw at the time of the accident. Residents acted swiftly and managed to rescue all six women safely from the water with minor injuries. However, a child remains missing, and a search operation is currently underway.

Rescue 1122’s professional diving team has reached the scene and is conducting a thorough search operation in the canal. Local volunteers are also assisting in the search efforts.

The exact cause of the accident is still unknown; initial speculation suggests the rickshaw may have lost balance or slipped near the canal’s edge. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the reasons behind the incident.

Residents have urged rescue teams to intensify the search and are praying for the safe recovery of the missing child.
