Smoking harms more than just you, it affects future generations too!

ISLAMABAD: A new research revealed that people who involuntarily inhale cigarette smoke due to their parents’ smoking may experience impaired lung function, and their children could face chronic respiratory problems.

According to the study published in the Thorax journal, the new study highlights the intergenerational damage caused by smoking.

The study urges fathers to avoid smoking near their children to reduce the risk of such health issues.

Researchers from the University of Melbourne stated that grandchildren or great-grandchildren exposed to passive smoking are at increased risk of developing Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

COPD causes approximately 3 million deaths worldwide each year.
