ABBOTTABAD: The rescue 1122 workers safely evacuated stranded tourists from Khaira Gali area of Galiyat, which has been reeling under heavy snowfall since last night.
A vehicle from Rawalpindi trapped in the snow at Galiyat Khaira Gali. Other tourist vehicles also got stuck. The rescue team quickly reached the scene and moved the tourists to a private hotel. There were five tourists in the vehicle. The Galiyat area has received snowfall, causing more vehicles to become stranded.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, the rising heat has been relieved by rain. After a long drought, rain started in various areas, including Peshawar. The weather turned cold again, and people wore warm clothes, feeling relieved from the heat.
Rain continues in many areas, including Malakand, Haripur, Mahsanra, Nowshera, and Orakzai. Snowfall has started in the mountains of Dir, bringing back the cold. The Meteorological Department predicts that the rain will continue, with more snowfall expected in the mountainous regions.
The drought had led to low water levels, with concerns about crop damage and the water levels in dams reaching critical lows. As rain began in Malakand, cold weather intensified with strong winds. In Tehsil Dargai, the rain made the weather pleasant, but power outages on several feeders caused concern.
In Haripur, light rain brought happiness to people after the long drought. The rain also increased the cold in Taghhal Ghazi and Khanpur. In Mansehra, intermittent rain since the night has increased the cold. Light snowfall is continuing in the upper hilly areas. Rain is also ongoing in Tehsil Darband, Ogi, Baffa Pakhal, Konesh Valley, and Saran Valley. The Meteorological Department forecasts that the rain will continue until the evening.
