DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Dera Ismail Khan police on Friday claimed to have a couple in the murder case of a 6-year-old child who was allegedly killed by stepfather with the help of his wife in the DI Khan district.
According to Divisional Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hafiz Adnan, the child was killed by his stepfather, the mother was also involved. The child’s mother and stepfather have been arrested and interrogation has begun.
According to DSP Adnan, the child’s mother was trying to flee to Multan after the incident when she was busted while boarding a bus from a bus stand. During interrogation, the woman revealed that she had separated from her ex-husband and that she had committed the murder to trap him.
A tortured body of the child was found at Jamia Eidgah at Sehri time last night. The child was aged between 5 and 6 years old and was tortured to death.
The body was brought to DHQ Hospital for postmortem by Rescue 1122. The initial report confirmed that the child died of suffocation after being raped and tortured. A team led by DSP Hafiz Muhammad Adnan is investigating the incident.
