Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building peace and stability through strategic reforms and sustainable development. Speaking at the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) in Islamabad, Kundi emphasized KPK’s pivotal role in Pakistan’s fight against extremism and terrorism, praising the resilience of its people.

Kundi warned that instability in Afghanistan has directly impacted Pakistan’s security, citing cross-border movement of non-state actors, increased terrorism, smuggling, and illicit trade. He stressed that border security remains a top priority for the provincial government.

The governor highlighted the importance of equitable economic growth, good governance, and social development as prerequisites for countering extremist ideologies. He also called for investment in special economic zones, trade corridors, skill development, and education, alongside promoting inter-faith harmony and social cohesion.
