PESHAWAR : The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department issued key directives during its third Medical Superintendents (MS) conference, chaired by Health Advisor Ehtesham Ali. The meeting focused on improving hospital performance, digitization, and accountability.
Health Advisor Ali warned that lists of chronically absent doctors must be submitted before the next conference, or the concerned MS would be held responsible. Health Secretary Shahidullah ordered the immediate utilization of idle medical equipment or its transfer to other hospitals. He also stressed speeding up medicine procurement.
The advisor emphasized full digitization, stating, “Now every work will be online, no work will be done manually.” He announced that contract doctors’ recruitment will be strictly merit-based through ETA (Electronic Testing Agency), ending the era of recommendations.
