SWAT: Showcasing a strong spirit of adventure and sportsmanship, the much-anticipated Summer Jeep Rally was successfully organized in Upper Swat with all its thrill and excitement, in which over 50 four-wheel-drive vehicles from across Pakistan participated.
According to a spokesperson for the Upper Swat Development Authority (USDA), The rally was held under the special interest and guidance of Advisor for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Zahid Chanzeb. Director General of the Upper Swat Development Authority, Mr. Adnan Abrar, led the rally, which started from the bustling market of Kalam and continued through the rugged terrain up to the scenic high-altitude location of Desan Banda.
According to USDA official Saeed-ur-Rehman, the rally covered a challenging jeep track that took around three hours to complete. The route reached an elevation of approximately 13,000 feet above sea level, where drivers displayed impressive skill and control on the steep and rocky paths. A large number of tourists also joined the event, adding to the festive and adventurous atmosphere.
The two-day rally passed through the picturesque valley of Gabin Jabba and concluded at Desan Banda in Kalam. As part of the event, a cleanliness drive was also launched at Desan Banda to encourage both locals and visitors to maintain the natural beauty of the area. The aim of this initiative was to raise awareness about preserving the environment in popular tourist destinations.
The Summer Jeep Rally was organized with the primary goal of promoting adventure tourism and attracting nature lovers to the region’s breath taking landscapes. According to the USDA spokesperson, more activities and festivals will soon be held in various tourist spots across Upper Swat to further promote eco-tourism and outdoor adventure.
Efforts to promote tourism in Swat continue with full dedication, ensuring that visitors can experience and enjoy the valley’s natural charm and cultural richness. At the closing ceremony, Director General of the USDA, Adnan Abrar, along with the Assistant Commissioner of Bahrain, distributed prizes and shields among participants in recognition of their performance and enthusiasm.
