DASKA-SWAT: The bodies of eight family members who perished in Swat’s devastating floods have been returned to their hometown of Muhammad Pur in Daska, Punjab. Heartbroken relatives and neighbors gathered as the victims – including four young daughters of Mohsin Ghauri – were brought home for burial. Two family members remain missing after flash floods swept away 10 picnickers along the Swat River.
The tragedy unfolded when Ghauri’s family, enjoying a riverside picnic, were caught by sudden surging waters. Local residents joined rescue teams in a desperate search, recovering eight victims while the hunt continues for two still missing.
The incident has plunged Daska into mourning, with the community rallying around the grieving family. The disaster has sparked urgent calls for better river safety measures to prevent similar tragedies.
