Swat police arrest couple involved in Easypaisa scam

SWAT: SWAT police have apprehended a couple involved in a series of fraudulent activities conducted through Easypaisa transactions. The suspects are accused of using modern techniques to deceive citizens at various locations, including petrol stations and large retail centres.

The arrest followed a complaint lodged three days ago at the Khwazakhela Police Station. The complainant reported that a young couple arrived at a petrol station in Gashkori in a white car, refuelled their vehicle, and made a payment via Easypaisa. However, the transaction was later reversed, resulting in a financial loss for the business.

Acting promptly, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. Utilising CCTV footage and advanced investigative tools, authorities were able to identify and arrest the suspects, who are residents of Abbottabad and Mansehra.

Police have revealed that the couple had been involved in similar fraudulent activities at multiple commercial centres and large retail outlets. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities suspecting that more individuals may be connected to the scam.
