Former Member of the Provincial Assembly, Alhaj Shafiq Sher Afridi has said Talal Chaudhry should exercise restraint in his statements; we will not support the operation under any circumstances.
The Pakistan Muslim League (N) Khyber District President, Asghar Khan Afridi, along with all cabinet members, has strongly condemned the speech made by Federal Minister Talal Chaudhry in the House in favour of the operation. The cabinet members made it clear that Talal Chaudhry does not have the authority to issue such statements without consulting the district and, especially, the provincial leadership.
The leaders of the Khyber District Muslim League (N) called on the federal and provincial leadership to restrain Talal Chaudhry; otherwise, they would jointly register a strong protest against him.
They raised the question of how many people were displaced and martyred as a result of operations over the last 15 years. Did Talal Chaudhry ever express a position on this tragedy? They pointed out that after the 18th Amendment, the responsibility for law and order lies with the provincial government and the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and thus, the provincial government should not shy away from its responsibilities.

The Pakistan Muslim League (N) Khyber District warned government representatives that if they cannot take a clear and unequivocal stand against the operation, they should immediately resign after apologising to the nation. The leaders reminded that the PML (N) has always opposed operations that resulted in the destruction of public businesses and the loss of innocent lives.
The press conference was attended by former Member of the Provincial Assembly Haji Shafiq Sher Afridi, former FATA President Faqir Muhammad Afridi, District President Asghar Khan Afridi, Provincial Vice President Haji Zahir Shah Afridi, member Mohib Khan Afridi, General Secretary Sajid Afridi, General Secretary Ehsan Afridi, and other leaders.
