Telephonic conversation with Trump: Putin agreed to meet Ukrainian President Zelensky

US President Donald Trump hold a long telephone conversation with Russian President Putin, in which President Putin informed his American counterpart that he was ready to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Zelensky.

According to European media, President Trump had called the Russian president during his talks with the Ukrainian president and European leaders.

According to Russian presidential advisor Yuri Ushakov, the phone call was made by the US president, and the conversation lasted for 40 minutes, which was frank and constructive.

President Trump and President Putin supported direct talks between Russia and Ukraine, in which they also expressed their willingness to propose raising the status of representatives of the two countries.

According to media reports, Russian President Putin told Trump that he is ready to meet with Ukrainian President Zelensky. The meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian presidents is expected to take place by the end of August.

President Trump said that if a peace agreement were reached, the United States would help guarantee Ukraine’s security. Putin has started arrangements for the Zelensky meeting; the location will be determined later.

It should be noted that President Trump had met with his Ukrainian counterpart, Zelensky, and European leaders at the White House. President Trump described these meetings as very useful.

President Trump had said that if things go well, he will hold a trilateral meeting with the Ukrainian and Russian presidents, and we will establish lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine.
