HARIPUR: At least three persons were killed and three other children injured in three separate incidents of boat capsizing and wall collapse in Khan Pur Dam area due to powerful wind and storm last Thursday.Local sources said that the family came from Peshawar to visit Khanpur Dam for recreational purposes, but in the meantime, their boat was trapped in the water due to a severe storm, resulting capsizing of their boat in Khanpur Dam. As a result of this tragic incident, three people died on the spot. In a separate incident, a wall of the house collapsed in the Sarahanda area of Khan Pur, where a child died and three other children were buried under the rubble, causing severe injuries to them. The injured persons were shifted to DHQ Haripur, where they were provided emergency medical treatment.
Meanwhile, another incident took place near Khanpur Dam when two motorcyclists collided due to a strong storm, in which a young man from Islamabad lost his life. All the injured and deceased were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Khanpur. The Deputy Commissioner Haripur has put the staff of all hospitals, including DHQ Hospital Haripur on high alert and directed the Doctors on duty to provide the best medical facilities to the affected persons.
