SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Three persons were martyred and 14 others injured in a roadside blast near a police mobile in Wana Bazar on Thursday.

Sources said that the blast occurred when a police mobile was passing through the area. As a result of the powerful blast, three civilians were martyred and 14 others seriously injured. Police personnel and civilians are among the injured. Soon after the blast, local people rushed to the site and started rescue activities.  The injured were being shifted to the DHQ Hospital Wana.

The condition of several injured is said to be critical. Police said that the target of the explosion was a police vehicle. A heavy contingent of police and FC deployed and cordoned off the area. The police and bomb disposal squad are collecting the evidence from the blast site.

It should be noted here that the recent wave of terrorism has claimed the lives of hundreds of people in the last two years, and the intensity of targeted attacks and bomb blasts is increasing with each passing day.

Security forces have also launched a search and targeted operation in Bajaur and North Waziristan, but the situation seems difficult to improve in the days ahead.
