Three siblings drown in tragic river incident in Malakand

Three siblings drowned in the river while bathing in the Tota Kan area of ​​Batkhela tehsil of Malakand; the body of a girl was recovered.

The incident took place at the Japan Bridge Kalangai location, where the children were bathing in the river when suddenly strong waves of water swept them away.
As soon as the information was received, the locals started a water search operation with their help, as a result of which the body of a twelve-year-old girl, Azra Bibi, was recovered, while the search for ten-year-old Bilal and thirteen-year-old Siddiq is still ongoing.
The three children were siblings and were bathing in the river at the Japan Bridge, Kalangai location.

The bodies of two youths who drowned in the Batkhela Head Works canal have been recovered. The operation involved the Rescue 1122 Malakand diving team, Civil Defence, Al-Khidmat, and local volunteers.

The victims have been identified as 16-year-old Irshad and 14-year-old Ijaz, both residents of Upper Dir. Their bodies were transported to the  District Headquarters hospital in Batkhela in a rescue ambulance.

District Emergency Officer Nasir Khan was on-site supervising the operation.
