Three young girls drown in river Indus in Shangla

Three girls were drowned in the river Indus in the Martung area of Shangla district. One girl was recovered alive by the local people present in the river, while two others remained missing.

According to officials, a search operation was launched to fish out the drowned girls’ bodies.
Rescue 1122 official said that the young girls had gone to the river to fetch water for domestic use, but suddenly, due to the fast flow of the river, sand and mud collapsed and swept them away.
He said one of the three girls was rescued alive by some local residents present at the bank of the river in the area.
He said a search operation was launched in the area by the Rescue 1122, Torghar district team. However, the flow of water in the river was too high.
