Egyptian TikTok star “Yasmin” exposed as boy Abdurrahman

An 18-year-old Egyptian Abdurrahman has been arrested for impersonating a woman online after his popular TikTok persona, “Yasmin,” was exposed.

The investigation began after complaints were filed about the influencer’s dance videos. When police summoned “Yasmin,” they discovered the account was run by Abdurrahman, a quiet tourism student.

He confessed to creating the female persona to gain followers and earn money. He was arrested and later released on a bail of 5,000 Egyptian pounds ($105). A case has been filed against him for impersonation and publishing immoral content.

The revelation shocked his community, where he was known as a normal boy. This case is part of a broader crackdown in Egypt on social media content deemed immoral by authorities.
