Today’s PSL match in Rawalpindi postponed; remaining fixtures likely to be shifted to Karachi

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that all remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 will be relocated to Karachi, citing escalating tensions with India as the primary reason. Today’s match in Rawalpindi also postponed by the PCB.

The decision was reached during an emergency meeting held on Wednesday at Gaddafi Stadium, attended by PSL franchise owners and senior law enforcement officials. The high-level gathering was convened to address security concerns and ensure the uninterrupted continuation of the tournament, which has entered a decisive phase.

In light of growing fears over potential security threats, the PCB, in consultation with all stakeholders, concluded that shifting the remainder of the league to Karachi was the safest and most feasible option.

As a consequence, the 27th match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi—scheduled for today at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium—has been cancelled and will be rescheduled to take place in Karachi.

This strategic move also aligns with the PCB’s efforts to safeguard Pakistan’s upcoming home T20I series against Bangladesh, with the board determined to prevent any disruption to the international fixtures.

While the sudden shift presents operational challenges, PCB officials maintain that it is a necessary step to protect players, fans, and the tournament’s integrity.

Revised match schedules and timings for Karachi are expected to be announced shortly.
