SAWABI: The death toll in the tragic accident in the Dalori area of Sawabi has risen to 12, while several people are injured.
District Emergency Officer Swabi Owais Babar says that rescue teams are providing all possible help to the affected families, while the injured are being immediately shifted to the hospital Swabi. So far, three dead bodies have been recovered in the Dalori cloudburst.
The injured include Salma (35 years old), Sanif Khan (60 years old), Yasin, Sitara and Hira, members of the same family, Sahib Shah, Akramah and Rumisa. Rescue 1122 personnel are present at the accident site and are continuously carrying out rescue operations.
Deputy Commissioner said seven excavators and six ambulances, two rescue vehicles, Rescue One 1122 are busy getting out other people under the rubble. Pak Army and TMA personnel are engaged in the operation.
The total casualties as a result of the cloudburst, including the Sarkoi incident, reached 17, which includes four people from Sarkoi and 13 from Dalori. The victims also include eight children and three women, Deputy Commissioner Nasrullah Khan said.
The Deputy Commissioner Sawabi informed that they have provided 30 foams, 30 tents and 67 mosquito nets to the victims during the night rescue operation.
It may be recalled here that after Buner devastating cloud burst incidents, Swabi was also hit by the calamity in which a total 17 people died in two separate incidents. The affected families belongs to Gadoon and Dalori area of Sawabi.
