PESHAWAR: In the wake of the Peshawar High Court order over the poor traffic and security situation on the Indus Highway, the concerned police officer submitted a report in the court.
The report states that only two mobile vans are available for traffic control on the Indus Highway in Kohat and Karak, only 7 highway traffic police personnel are deployed on the Indus Highway in Kohat and Karak, while the number of traffic personnel in Kohat will be increased to 28 on the court orders.
According to the report, 16 traffic personnel will be deployed in Kohat Tunnel and Darra Adam Khel Bazaar, four each will be deployed in Kohat Board and Lachi Bazaar, more than 130 police personnel will perform security duties at different places on Indus Highway, and only 12 personnel are engaged in traffic control in Karak,
Security and traffic personnel on the court order Letters have been sent to the police chief and other officials to increase the number of highway traffic units in Kohat and Karak to three and the number of officers to 20. Implementation of court orders has started to improve security and traffic on the Indus Highway.
