PESHAWAR:The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has released a fixed price list for buying medical equipment, furniture, and essential items in all government hospitals and health facilities across the province. This approved list, covering over 400 items, will remain valid until June 30.
District Health Officers and hospital Medical Superintendents have been instructed to carefully manage resources like staff, buildings, finances, and power when placing orders. They must also avoid unnecessary stockpiling of equipment.
To ensure reliability, suppliers must now deposit a security payment worth 10% of the total order value. A new delivery and payment system requires immediate installation and inspection once supplies arrive. Any problems must be reported directly to the Procurement Cell.
The department listed prices for major equipment examples, including an American-made 24-hour blood pressure monitor (Rs 1,149,900), a Chinese anesthesia machine (Rs 7,737,500), a Korean digital X-ray plant (Rs 21.5 million), a Chinese oxygen concentrator (Rs 275,000), and a Chinese baby incubator (Rs 1,485,000).
Officials stated these steps aim for transparent purchasing and timely deliveries. They warned that officers showing negligence in following these rules will face strictaction.
