Tribal people caught in political crossfire between centre and province: Nisar Baz

ANP Denies Inclusion in Pakhtunkhwa Senate Alliance, Criticizes Leadership for Ignoring Provincial Issues

Awami National Party (ANP) Member of Provincial Assembly Nisar Baz has said that ANP has always stood against unrest, and the same stand is still taken today.

Addressing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly session, Nisar Baz said why is there peace in Punjab and why is there unrest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa? We do not want unrest in Punjab, but we understand all these things.

He said that in the 2013 elections, ANP contested the elections under the shadow of terrorism and explosions, but did not back down from the democratic process. He said that we are against whoever does political engineering. We do not talk about anything unparliamentary and undemocratic.

Nisar Baz, mentioning the corruption of Rs 240 million in Bajaur local bodies and the alleged corruption of Rs 40 billion in Kohistan, raised the question of what the government and anti-corruption agencies are doing? If they cannot prevent corruption, why do they take salaries?

He said that tax money should not be wasted, it should be spent on the people.

Condemning shelling and violence against government employees, he said that we strongly condemn the use of force against government employees.

Nisar Baz further said, PTI has been in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for thirteen years, but why has the NFC award not been given till date? The people of the tribal districts are bearing the brunt of your political fight. Roads in Bajaur and Mohmand have not been built for seventeen years.

Expressing his views on international affairs, Nisar Baz strongly condemned Israel’s attack on Iran and said that Israel is an illegitimate child of America. We do not support any war, we strongly oppose giving the peace award to a frivolous person like Trump.
