Trump downplays Iran’s missile strike, calls it “weak” and non-threatening

Trump Says Iran Gave US Warning Before Al Udeid Attack; No Casualties Reported

President Donald Trump stated that Iran provided the US with early notice before launching missiles at Al Udeid Air Base in Iraq, allowing American forces to avoid casualties. He dismissed the attack as ineffective, saying no Americans were harmed and damage was minimal.

In a social media post, Trump suggested that Iran had “gotten it all out of their system” and expressed hope for no further aggression. He thanked Iran for the advance warning, which he said prevented injuries or deaths.

The president also called for regional peace, saying, “Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same.” His remarks indicate the US may not retaliate militarily for the strike.
