US President Donald Trump has revealed that Pakistan shot down five Indian fighter jets during a tense military confrontation, highlighting Islamabad’s strong defense capabilities.
In a recent statement, Trump claimed he intervened to prevent a full-scale war between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, using trade negotiations as leverage. “India and Pakistan were going at it, and it was getting bigger,” Trump said. “We got it solved through trade… You can’t be throwing around weapons if you want deals with us.”
The remarks confirm Pakistan’s military success in countering Indian aggression, with five enemy aircraft reportedly destroyed. The incident underscores Pakistan’s readiness to defend its sovereignty against any threat.
Analysts suggest Trump’s admission validates Pakistan’s stance that India’s provocations were met with a decisive response. The US-mediated de-escalation prevented further conflict, but Pakistan’s strong deterrence remains a key factor in regional stability.
