HANGU: A local commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referred to as Khawarj, was killed in an operation in Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

As per details, the counter-terrorism department force and police carried out a joint operation in the Shanawori area of the Hangu after receiving reports of terrorists’ presence.

When police reached the area to arrest them. The terrorists started firing on the police. A heavy exchange of fire broke out between security forces and terrorists. One terrorist was killed, while his accomplice escaped. Security forces have started a search operation to capture him.

The killed terrorist, identified as Commander Saeed, belonged to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Police said he was involved in the killing of policeman Qudratullah.

Security forces recovered a Kalashnikov, two hand grenades, and Afghan SIM cards from Saeed’s possession. The search operation for the escaped terrorist is ongoing.
