Turkiye’s first lady pledges support for flood-hit Pakistan

ANKARA: Turkish First Lady Emine Erdoğan has expressed solidarity with the people of Pakistan as the country grapples with devastating floods, extending prayers and sympathy to the victims.

In a message on X (formerly Twitter), Erdoğan recalled her 2010 visit to Pakistan during the catastrophic floods, saying she had personally witnessed the misery and helplessness of thousands of displaced families at the time. She noted that Türkiye was among the first nations to step forward with relief efforts back then and stressed that the spirit of solidarity remains unchanged today.

She said the Turkish people’s prayers, compassion, and support continue to stand with Pakistan in this challenging period. Erdoğan added that the Turkish Red Crescent is already active in the affected regions, closely monitoring the situation and delivering emergency relief including healthcare, temporary shelters, food supplies, and clean drinking water.

The First Lady prayed for those who lost their lives, wished speedy recovery for the injured, and appealed to the international community to extend assistance. She emphasized that collective humanitarian efforts and compassion are vital to easing the suffering of flood-hit families in Pakistan.
