Two personnel of security forces martyred as military operation Sar-Bakaf resumes in Bajaur

BAJAUR: Two personnel of security forces were martyred and 18 others were injured when terrorists attacked a convoy at Siddiqabad Phatak area as operation Sar-bakaf resumed in Bajaur area on Tuesday

Local sources said that incident occurred when the security forces’ convoy was passing through the area. Local correspondent said that due to the curfew, access to the area was limited and and exact condition of the injured is not conformed.

Curfew has been imposed in Bajaur since August 11 in view of a targeted operation. Curfew will remain in force in 27 areas of Loi Mamond and Wada Mamond tehsils till August 14. Curfew will remain in force on the main highways of Bajaur till 11 pm tonight, the district administration said.

All commercial centres closed while Khar to Munda Road, Khar to Siddiqabad Road, Khar to Inayat Kale Road, and Khar to Navagai Road will be closed for all types of traffic. Curfew on roads will remain in force till 1 am, district administration.

So far, more than 20,000 families have been displaced from Loi Mamond and Wada Mamond tehsils, district administration said.

The curfew-hit areas include Laghari, Guhti, Ghanam Shah, Bad-e-Siya, Gut, Katkot, Regai, Daag, Ghundi, Amanato, Zagai, Grigal, Niag, Damadullah, Sultan Beg, Chautra, Gang, Jawad, Inam Khoro, Changai, Anga, Safari, Bar Gatki, Khadki, Shakro, Shinkot, and Bakaro.
