The National Interest, a prominent U.S. defense analysis outlet, has highlighted Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) success against India’s advanced French-built Rafale jets using Chinese-made J-10C fighters.According to their assessment, in recent air battles between India and Pakistan, Pakistan’s Chinese-made J-10C fighter jets proved more effective than India’s expensive French-built Rafale aircraft, according to analysis by U.S. defense experts.
The clashes revealed serious problems in India’s air force:
– India has 596 fewer pilots than needed
– Only 1.25 pilots available for each fighter jet (needs 42 full squadrons)
– Old training planes like the Pilatus PC-7 Mk-II aren’t being replaced
France claims India’s poor maintenance and pilot training caused the Rafale’s poor performance. However, military experts say Pakistan’s J-10C jets and PL-15 missiles simply outperformed the French technology.
“The Rafale’s electronic warfare systems couldn’t match Pakistan’s Chinese equipment,” one analyst told The National Interest. “This shows China’s military technology now equals – and sometimes beats – Western systems that cost much more.”
The results have caused other countries to question their purchases of French jets, with Indonesia reportedly reviewing its recent Rafale deal. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s air force gains credibility for effectively using more affordable Chinese technology against one of the world’s most expensive fighter jets.
