An emergency meeting of the United Nations (UN) Security Council has been called at the request of Pakistan, in which Pakistan will inform the world about India’s provocations and the threats to peace in the region. Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Asim Iftikhar will brief the meeting on the Indian aggression.
The Pakistani delegate has confirmed that the Security Council presidency was formally informed of the meeting on the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Asim Iftikhar said, “We are working according to this instruction, and when appeals come into the system, they have an impact on the international system.”
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed has said that the US administration is also concerned about this issue, because everyone knows that the tense situation arising in South Asia is never limited. He said that ‘America has a prominent role in security matters, and we expect it to play a role in de-escalating tensions.’
On the other hand, Pakistani High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Faisal, has said in a meaningful statement that ‘the real issue is not Pahalgam or Pulwama, but Jammu and Kashmir. Until this issue is resolved under the aspirations of the Kashmiris, the dream of peace in Pakistan-India relations cannot be realised.’

Pakistan has warned the international community that India’s continuous provocations, especially the increasing military movements on the Line of Control in recent days and actions like the false flag operation in Pahalgam, are not only affecting regional peace but are also creating the risk of a major war.
In this important meeting to be held at the United Nations, Pakistan will expose India’s regional policies with evidence to the world powers and convince them that a sustainable and just solution to the Kashmir issue is the only guarantee of lasting peace in South Asia.
