US blacklists Indian agents, diplomats in human trafficking crackdown

EU lists seven 'safe' countries to speed up migrant deportations

The United States has announced visa restrictions on owners and officials of Indian travel agencies accused of promoting illegal immigration. US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated that investigations revealed some agencies, along with Indian consular staff, were involved in human trafficking and facilitating unlawful migration.

Bruce warned that individuals complicit in these activities would be barred from entering the US, emphasizing strict enforcement of immigration laws to protect national security. The move follows documented cases of fraud and exploitation linked to certain Indian travel operators.

This decision has drawn international attention, putting pressure on India to curb illicit migration networks. The US vowed continued action against agencies violating its laws.
