WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has urged the European leaders to stop purchasing Russian oil and to increase economic pressure on China in an effort to help end the war in Ukraine.
White House officials confirmed that, US President made these remarks during a “Coalition of the Willing” meeting held with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders. The meeting is focused on Ukraine’s security and bringing an end to the conflict.
During the meeting, Trump argued that payments Europe makes for Russian oil are being used to fund Russia’s war efforts in Ukraine. He claimed that Russia has earned over one billion euros from fuel sales to Europe in the past year.
