The Utmanzai Jirga held a consultative Jirga in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, today, in which elders from all areas and people of every school of thought participated.
The district administration allowed all vehicles to enter North Waziristan at the Sayedgai check post yesterday, June 1, and today, June 2, which was the demand of the Utmanzai Jirga, and non-customs paid (NCP) vehicles were also allowed.
Mufti Baitullah, spokesperson for the Utmanzai Jirga, told Pakhtun Digital that the talk of displacement in North Waziristan is baseless, which has no truth in it, and neither the military nor the district administration has talked to us in this regard.
He said that negotiations were held between the Utmanzai Jirga and the district administration today, and the second round of negotiations will begin tomorrow at 1 pm. We hope that the results of the negotiations will be in the interest of the people.
The district administration has said that the only solution to the problems is through negotiations. We have accepted the demands presented by the Atmanzai Jirga. Much progress was made in the talks with the Atmanzai Jirga today. Negotiations will resume tomorrow.
The district administration, led by Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan Muhammad Yousuf Karim, participated in the talks, after which long negotiations were held with the GOC of the 7th Division.
The Atmanzai Jirga was led by Chief of Waziristan Malik Nasrullah. He was accompanied by Mufti Baitullah, Malik Haji Abdul Qadir Kabulkhel, Maulana Misbahullah, Maulana Raman, Abdul Halil Wazir, Malik Nematullah Hormuz, Maulana Rashidullah, Noor Madad Khan, Mufti Shakir, Maulana Ahmad Din, and Malik Rab Nawaz Khan.
