Violent clashes erupt outside Adiala jail, PTI workers pelt stones at police; several arrested

 

RAWALPINDI: Violent clashes erupted outside the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi on Tuesday as the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers pelted stones at the police, however, police responded by arresting several PTI workers.

A clash erupted with the police between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers and police near Adiala Jail.

According to media reports, PTI workers pelted stones at police personnel at a police checkpoint near Adiala Jail, after which the police started the process of arresting PTI workers and arrested several workers.

Later, on the assurance of Opposition Leader Omar Ayub, the arrested workers were released, and the stone-pelting by the workers also stopped.

On the other hand, senior PTI leader Zartaj Gul, while talking to media representatives, said that no one is allowed to speak in Punjab and that there is continuous opposition against the decisions of the courts.
