Reports of water entering low-lying areas have been received, as the district administration and Rescue 1122 teams have been put on high alert. An emergency has been imposed in the affected areas, and schools have been evacuated.

Six people were trapped in the middle of the river due to a sudden increase in the water flow of the Swat River in the Dadhara area of Barikot tehsil.

The water rescue team of Rescue 1122 Swat took timely action and, with professional skills, safely evacuated all the people and shifted them to a safe place. District Emergency Officer Rafiullah Marwat says that Rescue 1122 stands with the public in every emergency, and citizens have been instructed to be careful.

According to the rescue and district administration, the water flow at Munda Headworks in the Swat River has reached 76,250 cusecs, which has been declared as a medium flood. Assistant Commissioner Tangi Waqas-ur-Rehman has warned people living on the banks of the Swat River to take precautionary measures and avoid going near the river.

Meanwhile, the recent rains in the upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have increased the water flow in the Kabul River. Given the flood situation, the District Administration of Nowshera has imposed Section 144 throughout the district as a precautionary measure.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Nowshera, under Section 144, any kind of activity, including bathing in rivers, small dams, storm drains and streams, has been completely banned.

The administration says that due to continuous rains in the upper areas, there is a risk of flooding in the Kabul River, which may result in flooding in the low-lying areas. All relevant departments, including Rescue 1122, have been put on high alert, and advanced measures have been completed to deal with any emergency.
