'We are closely monitoring tensions between Pakistan and India': US

US State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce has said that the United States is closely monitoring the escalating tensions between Pakistan and India and the current situation.

During a routine press briefing in Washington, she acknowledged that the situation in the region is extremely sensitive and rapidly changing.

She said the United States was not taking any immediate position regarding Jammu and Kashmir. However, the situation was being closely monitored.

The spokesperson strongly condemned the recent terrorist incident in India and said that the United States condemns this attack in the strongest terms and stands with India. She said it was necessary to bring the elements involved in the attack to justice to ensure justice for the victims.

Tammy Bruce emphasised that the United States supports all possible diplomatic efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.

Meanwhile, the United States has once again refrained from taking a direct stance on a sensitive issue like Kashmir and reiterated its traditional neutral stance.
