PESHAWAR: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inayatullah Khan said that the flood has caused major losses in Swat and Buner, and they are making a data database to collect data of the damaged infrastructures and losses of property.
“We have seen with our own eyes that there have been a lot of financial and human losses. We are creating a database in Malakand division, work will start regularly from tomorrow,” Inayatullah Khan remarked.
He said that about 2,000 houses have been affected in the whole of Swat, and a lot of people were trapped in streets, dirt roads and houses due to the sudden flow of heavy flood water. He said that work has been done here, but the machinery is insufficient.
He added that there are problems with toilets and clean water in different areas, and Al-Khidmat Foundation is busy providing clean water and other necessities to the affected families. An appeal is made to the government and district administration to help the people in every possible way.
He appealed to the government to collect data as soon as possible and provide immediate assistance to the victims. He said that there is often corruption in aid and property restoration, and proper monitoring will be needed to reach out to the deserving families.
He added that Jamaat-e-Islami will review all aid activities and will expose corruption. He saluted the volunteers of Al-Khidmat Foundation, who worked day and night to facilitate the people of the affected area. He said that PDMA and NDMA should work together to mitigate the worries of the flood victims. He also appealed to the government to increase the supply of machinery to remove stones and debris from the houses and roads.
