TAROUBA, Trinidad: West Indies defeated Pakistan by five wickets in a rain-affected second ODI at Tarouba on Sunday, levelling the three-match series 1-1.
Chasing a revised target of 181 in 35 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method, the hosts reached the mark in 33.2 overs, losing five wickets. Roston Chase top-scored with an unbeaten 49, while Sherfane Rutherford (45) and Shai Hope (32) made key contributions.
For Pakistan, Hasan Ali (2/35) and Mohammad Nawaz (2/17) picked up two wickets each, with Abrar Ahmed claiming one.
Earlier, Pakistan, put in to bat, reached 171/7 in 37 overs before rain halted play for the third time. Hasan Nawaz remained unbeaten on 36, with Hussain Talat (31) and Saim Ayub (23) among the scorers. Jayden Seales starred with the ball for West Indies, taking 3/23.
Both sides made changes to their playing XIs, with West Indies bringing in Justin Greaves for Romario Shepherd, while Pakistan replaced Naseem Shah, Sufiyan Muqim, and Faheem Ashraf with Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, and Abrar Ahmed.
