PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has granted protective bail to a storage officer involved in the wheat scandal and ordered the accused to appear in the relevant court.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Dr. Khurshid Iqbal and Justice Aurangzeb Khan heard the petition of Muhammad Arshad. The petitioner’s lawyer took the stand that his client is a storage officer in a government warehouse in Azakhel and the Anti-Corruption Department is conducting illegal raids.
It was further said that the Anti-Corruption Department is not providing details of the case.
According to the report submitted in the court, only one case has been registered against the accused. After the details came to light, the court disposed of the petition and directed the petitioner to approach the relevant court.
