Who is Ahmed Daniyal? Pakistan’s latest pace sensation

Pakistan’s New Seamer Ahmed Daniyal Shines on International Debut

Pakistan introduced fast bowler Ahmed Daniyal in their must-win second T20I against Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, replacing spinner Abrar Ahmed in the only change to their lineup.

The 28-year-old Lahore-born seamer, who earned recognition during his stint with Lahore Qalandars in the 2021 Pakistan Super League (PSL), received his maiden T20I cap from team manager Naveed Akram Cheema before the match. Daniyal became the 123rd player to represent Pakistan in T20Is.

Known for his raw pace, Daniyal had previously impressed in leagues like the Big Bash, where he played for Melbourne Renegades in 2022. Though he has been a regular in franchise cricket, this tour marked his first call-up to the national side.

Daniyal made an immediate impact, taking a wicket in his very first over and consistently bowling at speeds exceeding 146 km/h. His performance helped Pakistan restrict Bangladesh to 38/4 after 7.4 overs, putting the visitors in a commanding position.

With 19 wickets in 20 T20 matches before this game, Daniyal’s inclusion added firepower to Pakistan’s pace attack. Fans and analysts will now watch closely to see if he can cement his place in the squad.
